About Us
I founded this business after living the founder journey myself—from startup, through scaleup, to IPO—and supporting other founder-CxOs as they grew.
Along the way I hit (and witnessed) the pivotal moments where the right decision—and the right support—depends on clear governance and sharp strategic thinking. In the business I co-founded, the most significant event was hiring an experienced non-exec Chair at day one of the business. I am convinced that this was the single most important factor in us being able to float on the stock exchange within 3 years.
That’s why I created The Founder’s Journey: to share practical, hard-won lessons with founders and the people around them. My focus is helping you build options for the point when your personal path and your company’s path inevitably diverge—so the outcome is as positive (and profitable) as possible.
When we use governance as a practical lens—not a box-ticking or scrutiny exercise—the myths fall away and the next steps become clearer.
Through The Founder’s Journey and Omnigenix, the consultancy behind it, I’ve worked with startup founders, scaleup CEOs, non-executive directors, advisers and university technology transfer specialists.
They come from different sectors, but they share the same intent: grow well, without losing what made the business worth building in the first place.
Alongside this work, I hold a portfolio of non-executive director, trustee and advisory roles.
